If you want to do more like birding/telephoto shots, the R7/10 might be the way to go. The reason I went full-frame (RP/R8) instead of an APS-C is that it just flat out collects more light since the sensor is bigger and that tends to do better at astro. Any nicer digital camera will do a great job if you know what kind of pictures you want and you set yourself up well to take them.īasically big thing with the "big camera" is that it lets you take pictures your phone can't do. It's also not weather sealed so make sure to wipe off splashes and have a plan to keep it out of the rain.Īs far as image quality - honestly it doesn't matter. The LCD flipping closed keeps that nice and safe from scratches. It's built well but it's not like a super rough and tumble sort of device. r/Travel <- A community about going places. r/AdvancedBackpacking <- The hardcore technical side of backpacking r/searchandrescue <-A subreddit for former, current, or prospective members of any Search and Rescue organization, paid or volunteer. r/UrbanSurvivalism <- DIY, improvisation, train hitching, urban exploration, hobo, TEOTWAWKI, post collapse, and surivalist posts are all welcome here r/Ultralight <- For our ultralight brethren r/HammockCamping <- Discussions about camping with Hammocks r/MYOG <- Make your own gear!
